The doctor was excellent — professional, attentive, and provided great medical care. However, the patient journey was very poor and frustrating.

After finishing with the doctor, I was sent to the reception, who then directed me to the nurse. The nurse asked me to go to the insurance counter, and after the insurance check, I was again told to return to the reception and start the queue from the beginning.

This unnecessary back-and-forth wasted time and created a confusing experience. The clinic should improve its process flow and coordination between departments to make the journey smoother for patients. Show less »

Negative Experience at the Physiotherapy Clinic – Thumbay Hospital Umm Al Quwain

I am writing this review to document my extremely disappointing experience with the physiotherapy clinic, specifically with Dr. Maryam.

Unfortunately, there was no respect for patient appointments. We were not informed that our appointment had been changed, despite traveling from another emirate. When we raised the issue, the doctor casually mentioned that she had written it on an external note and simply forgot to inform us. This level of negligence is highly unprofessional and unacceptable.

In addition, her attitude towards patients and their families was arrogant and impolite. As the guardian of the patient, I can confidently say that I do not recommend her at all, as in my opinion she is not suitable to be practicing as a doctor in the first place.

What makes the situation worse is that the hospital management, or the person who introduced himself as her supervisor, took no action after the complaint was raised. This raises serious concerns about the hospital’s commitment to patient care and accountability.

I sincerely hope that the hospital administration reconsiders such practices and takes the necessary steps to ensure that patients receive the respect and professionalism they deserve.

After I insisted on knowing what action the hospital would take, she was eventually called in and arrived around 20 minutes later to conduct the session. This was despite the fact that she had just told me over the phone that she had an “emergency case” and had postponed all her appointments for the day. If I had not insisted, she would not have attended to the patient at all.

This inconsistency and lack of transparency only confirmed my concerns about her professionalism and the hospital’s handling of patient care. Show less »

Dr. Reshma took the time to listen carefully to my concerns, explained every step clearly. Her calm and caring approach helped ease my anxiety, especially during sensitive procedures.
The clinic itself is well-equipped, clean, and organized, with a compassionate and efficient receptionist staff and nurses. I'm very thankful to have found such a dedicated and trustworthy gynecologist.

As patients, our priority is receiving quality care, not being prompted to rate it before we've even had time to reflect. Genuine appreciation should come naturally—if the experience is truly good, we will leave a positive review without being asked.

This kind of pressure, especially from both front desk staff and the doctor himself, feels inappropriate and undermines the purpose of honest patient feedback. I hope the clinic reconsiders this practice and allows patients to share their experiences voluntarily, without influence. Show less »
