Review of Health Avenue Polyclinic (Majan Branch)

I have been a loyal client of Health Avenue Polyclinic for more than 7 years (5 years in Marina Grosvenor House branch and 2 years in Majan branch). The doctors here, especially for Botox, are amazing — I’ve always been very happy with their work.

Unfortunately, the management and reception staff have completely ruined my trust in this clinic.

My husband had 3000 AED credit with the clinic. Before booking my Botox + skin booster treatment, I asked TWICE on their WhatsApp if both me and my husband could use this credit. I was told yes (I even have proof of the conversation unfortunately I cant share with for privacy reasons). Based on this confirmation, I proceeded with the treatment.

After the procedure, the receptionist refused to apply my husband’s credit and insisted I had to pay 1500 AED. I explained again that I had already confirmed this in writing with their staff, but she still rejected it. Feeling unfairly treated, I asked to cancel my prepaid laser hair removal package and have the balance converted to credits.

Here the situation got even worse:
• My husband had gifted me a 2200 AED laser hair removal package (6 sessions).
• I had only used 2 sessions, but the receptionist argued that I had paid only 1000 AED, that I had already used 4 sessions, and that I only had 2 sessions left.
• She then calculated my “remaining credit” as just 333 AED, and still forced me to pay 1167 AED for my treatment.

I was extremely upset but just wanted to leave, so I paid. Afterwards, I checked all my records: messages, receipts, and my calendar. I clearly proved I had paid 2200 AED, not 1000 AED, and that I had 4 sessions left, not 2. I emailed all this evidence to the clinic, but they never replied. I had no choice but to report them to Consumer Rights.

The doctors are excellent, but the reception and management are dishonest, unprofessional, and dismissive of loyal clients. Sadly, after so many years, I will not be returning. I truly hope they learn their lesson and treat their customers with fairness and respect in the future Show less »

Long-Time Customer Misled – Buyer Beware: Falsely Advertised Packages, No Warning if Discontinued Services, No Refund.

I’ve been a loyal Health Avenue customer for over 6 years, regularly purchasing laser and doctor’s packages through their regular marketing promotions. Unfortunately however my recent experience with them has been unacceptable and quite honestly shocked me.

After buying additional laser sessions, I was only informed after I made purchased that the Marina branch no longer offered laser, this appeared to be completely out of the blue from a customer perspective but definitely had to be known internally as a business. When I asked for a refund, I was told this wasn’t possible and was instead offered to transfer the credit to doctor services. Shortly after, I then found out my doctor had also left — leaving absolutely no services available at Marina. In reality, the branch looks to have completely shut down.

So now I’m completely annoyed after many more complaints now. Only to receive a message from management stating: “Due to relocation… in accordance with UAE law, we are unable to offer any refunds.” This is misleading. Under UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Decree Law No. 5 of 2023), businesses cannot sell services that don’t exist, nor hide behind blanket “no refund” policies when services are not delivered.

As a customer who trusted this clinic for many years, I find this behavior highly unfair. Instead of doing the right thing and refunding clients, they continue to take money through promotions while shutting down their branch and redirecting people to a location (Al Barari) that is not accessible or convenient.

This is a warning to others: check carefully before purchasing any packages, as you may find the services you paid for are no longer available — and you will not be refunded.

I am really hoping the HA do the right thing and just give my money back. Show less »

I have been a client at this clinic for several years, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. My appointment was cancelled last minute because their technician resigned, and the only alternative they offered was at another branch, which did not suit my location or schedule. They initially promised to refund the remaining sessions from my package, but after two months of me following up, I was informed that under “new management decision,” no refunds would be given. The manager did not even bother to speak to me directly. Very unprofessional. The equipment also feels outdated. Avoid this clinic if you expect reliability and accountability. Show less »

My first negative review was written 11 months ago and I am again writing a negative review to make others aware that NOTHING has changed since then at this place. They have moved the laser services to Majan without any prior notice, which is a 30 minute commute for me by taxi, an absolute waste of money and time. They had agreed to a refund by end of July and when I followed up I was told their policy has been changed. Moreover, the staff won’t answer calls to address your issues to avoid any confrontation. I would suggest to spend your money elsewhere to avoid being scammed by them.

Below was my old review written 11 months ago:
Please save your money and go elsewhere. My friends and I have had a terrible experience at this clinic. They used to be good apparently but not anymore and this I can guarantee. If you book appointments weeks prior, they will call you on the day of your appointment to cancel. Moreover, the lady at the reception is really rude. The laser professionals just want to get done with the sessions so they are always in a rush. Would never recommend to anybody. Don’t get fooled by their fancy location. Show less »

I bought a package of 6 laser hair removal sessions, after 3 sessions they stopped all laser services, saying they moved to some other clinic (which is 1 hour extra of commute time for me). Refusing to give the refund.

Dear Zemfira Agabekova

I would like to clarify a few important points regarding your visit:
1. Arrival & Preparation: You arrived late to your appointment, which slightly limited the time I had to carry out the treatment thoroughly. Despite that, technician ensured all protocols were followed and took extra care in preparing the treatment area, including trying to remove any makeup or glitter present.
2. Shaving Recommendation: We kindly advised that the area should be shaved prior to laser to ensure safe and effective results. However, you chose not to shave the area, and when I explained the risk of burning due to shooting over visible hair, you insisted I proceed. This is clearly documented in our treatment notes.
3. Technician Conduct: technician acted professionally throughout the session and even applied soothing cream when you reported discomfort. Immediate redness and sensitivity can happen during laser sessions, especially on sensitive areas like the upper lip, and typically subside within hours.
4. Post-Treatment Communication: You contacted back to clinic 3–4 days after the session, by which time it becomes difficult to determine whether the reaction was directly due to the treatment or external factors.
5. Effectiveness of Session: Laser hair removal results vary based on hair density, cycle, and pre-treatment care (like shaving). As you didn’t shave beforehand, this likely impacted the results of your session.

I kindly request that feedback remains factual and constructive. Mentioning l technician by name with serious allegations can damage my professional reputation unfairly, especially when there is another side to the story.

Please note:
If a burn occurs from laser hair removal, it typically follows the shape of the laser spot — a small, circular pattern. In your case, the area you’re showing does not resemble that pattern. This raises questions about whether the reaction was truly caused by the laser treatment. Show less »

I had a very *disappointing* experience at this clinic. During a laser hair removal session, the technician, Ploy (from Thailand), *burned* my upper lip despite my clear request to avoid repeatedly treating the same sensitive area. I told her I was feeling a burning sensation, but she dismissed my concern, applied some cream, and continued — causing intense pain that made me physically flinch. The area immediately became red and swollen, yet she insisted it would subside within 30 minutes.

The next day, I had dry blood and pain while drinking hot liquids. I contacted the clinic to report the incident and seek a resolution, especially since I had already purchased a package with two remaining sessions. I was told a manager would reach out — but two weeks have passed without any follow-up. Such lack of professionalism and care is deeply concerning. In addition to all, that whole laser treatment session wasnt effective either and for the first time in many years, post session I saw really slim results and yet, persistent hairgrowth. Show less »

I genuinely hope I can save anyone time and energy to avoid this place and never go there! Laser, i have been burnt more than once! Completely unprofessional staff, and they cancel appointments as they please! And to end, they move the appointments to another branch without checking if customers can go!

Avoid this place completely
