We chose Lucia’s because it positions itself as a premium clinic, but unfortunately the service did not reflect that standard.
From the moment I arrived, the front desk experience was extremely disappointing. No water, no coffee, no basic courtesy was offered. The receptionist was rude and dismissive when asking for my first and last name, which I provided clearly. She repeatedly asked whether I had been there before; I answered yes three times. She then asked for my phone number, which I gave slowly and accurately twice, yet she said she couldn’t find me.
When I tried to clarify that I had been there before, she responded in a raised, defensive tone, saying:
“I ASKED YOU IF YOU CAME HERE, THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYING,”
as if I had misunderstood her, when in reality she simply could not locate my profile. At that point, I genuinely felt like walking out immediately.
When I asked her to repeat the phone number back to me, she was missing two digits, which made it clear she was not listening at all. For a clinic that charges premium prices, this level of inattentiveness, defensiveness, and lack of professionalism is unacceptable.
After my facial, she asked “how was it” in a cold, dismissive way without a smile. When I replied “fine,” she whispered the price — 4,200 AED — as if she couldn’t be bothered to speak, which only reinforced how disengaged she seemed.
My husband and I have collectively had around six treatments in less than three weeks, spending a significant amount of money and fully intending to become long-term clients. This experience alone made us seriously reconsider that.
Regarding the treatment itself, the practitioner rushed the facial. While I acknowledge that I arrived 30 minutes late due to New Year traffic, I attempted to call multiple times and sent a text, none of which were answered until the moment I physically arrived. Despite this, there was no communication, no consultation, and no questions about my skin concerns. The practitioner simply rushed through the treatment, which was a stark contrast to a previous practitioner who was far more attentive and thorough.
Lucia’s has great machines, but machines alone do not make a premium clinic. When staff are inconsistent, rushed, inattentive, and poorly trained in both communication and treatment delivery, the experience does not justify the price.
Overall, the service fell far below expectations, and the front desk interaction in particular significantly undermined what should have been a high-end experience.
