People who are regularly treated with botulinum toxin will recognize it: the botox doesn't work. Or at least, not well enough. Why does the botulinum toxin work better at some times than at others? Doctor Frank de Jongh is researching this.

The effectiveness of botulinum toxin depends on several factors:

• The brand of botulinum toxin used

• The concentration of botulinum toxin (number of units)

• The injection sites

• The strength of the muscles causing the wrinkles

"We are developing a user-friendly app for consumers in which the above elements can be recorded after each treatment. This way, you learn how many units of botulinum toxin you need, at which locations injections should be made, and which brand of botulinum toxin works best for you.
