What is teeth grinding?
Teeth grinding is the rubbing of the teeth and molars against each other. This can naturally cause wear on the teeth and molars. Sometimes the teeth even start to hurt or become loose. This condition arises from excessive chewing muscle activity. Because of this, some people grind their teeth while others clench their jaws. People who do this at night may also experience neck pain and headaches. You can also develop a “muscular” chewing muscle. This creates a masculine-looking jaw, which some people do not find pleasant. Stress and anxiety are seen as possible causes of teeth grinding and jaw clenching.
